You must apply for a UK ETA if:

You are a national of a country that is part of the UK ETA scheme (e.g. European Union countries, the USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and others as the program expands).

You are traveling to the UK for:

    • Tourism (holidays, visiting friends or family).
    • Business trips (meetings, conferences, short assignments).
    • Study (short courses up to 6 months).
    • Transit (passing through the UK on the way to another destination).

You are planning to stay for up to 6 months per visit.

Processing time:

Most ETA applications are processed within 24–72 hours, though some may take longer if additional checks are required.

Approval notification:

You will receive an email once your ETA has been granted, electronically linked to your passport.

Validity period:

    • The ETA is valid for 2 years, or until your passport expires (whichever comes first).
    • It allows multiple entries into the UK during that time.

Maximum stay per visit:

Each entry allows you to remain in the UK for up to 6 months for tourism, business, study, or transit.
